TERRAIN is an enduring collaboration that presents Lee Ka-sing's photographs alongside Gary Michael Dault's haiku responses. This marks the fourth volume of the project, featuring fifty diptychs. These diptychs were originally published daily at OCEANPOUNDS.com during the summer of 2023.

Lee Ka-sing, who grew up in Hong Kong and moved to Toronto in 1997, is an artist and photographer with a background in literature. He received recognition as Photographer of the Year from the Hong Kong Artists' Guild in 1989 and was honored with the Fellowship for Artistic Development from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 1999. His photography works can be found in public collections, including M+ Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and others.

On the other hand, Gary Michael Dault has spent most of his professional life in Toronto, working as a painter, university teacher, and art critic. He has authored numerous magazine articles and gallery catalogues and has written books about the visual arts. Dault is also a poet with ten volumes of poetry to his name. Additionally, he has written television documentaries, including works for Sir Peter Ustinov. Gary Michael Dault resides with his wife, artist Malgorzata Wolak Dault, and their seven cats in a greatly cherished Victorian house in Napanee.
